If they can wheel, so can you!

"I am interested in wheeling but I don't think if I can do it."

This is a common concern of most people when they first saw the wheel. As much as they are intrigued with how the wheel operates, they tend to think that it is not easy to maintain the balance on the wheel. While the Wheelie is not something like the hoverboard where you can almost immediately mount and go with little or no training, it is something most can learn within one to two hours of guided training from experienced trainers. You can learn how to wheel even if you never cycle before or do not have experience in skateboarding or rolling blading, It's an entire learning curve and trust me, the learning curve is not as steep as you think.

Wheeling works on your muscle coordination, core muscles, agility as well as your balancing. It is moderately aerobic: While wheeling, you are moving large muscle groups enough to elevate your oxygen consumption during twisting and turning. In holding your upper body forward of your legs and in an extended position, you work the deepest abdominal support muscles necessary to transfer forces from your feet up through your arms. While wheeling might not give you your desired six-pack, you've probably built up your inner abdominal core and will be less likely to suffer back injuries than most. Wheeling also allows you too to develop local muscular endurance through holding your quads in a flexed position, as well as some rotational flexibility and strength in pulling turns.

Don't believe us, here are some great examples why everyone can wheel!

Uncle Lim is a 72 year old grandpa. He leads an active lifestyle and takes good care of his health. In this instance, he proves that age is no barrier in wheeling, putting many of us to shame with his enthusiasm and energy level, learning to wheel in less than 2 weeks. Let us give a round of applause for Uncle Lim. He proves that with the right determination, nothing can stand in his way. He is currently wheeling daily from Kembangan to his work place in Changi Village.

Fiona is only 8 years old when she signed up for the electric unicycling course in Paya Lebar Kovan Community Center. Like her sister who signed up for the same course, she managed to learn how to wheel in just 70 mins

Mdm Wong is 63 years old. She participated in Wheelies free unicycle training in Aljunied Community Center. With the help of training wheels attached to the wheels, she move almost freely without assistance.

Zita has no prior experienced in wheeling but when she saw The Wheelians in action, she was very determine to learn it too. She bought the wheels from The Wheelies Shop as as part of the purchase, training was provided.. She managed to learn wheeling in 40 mins with proper guidance from our instructor.

Jayden comes from a wheeling family where his dad and his older brother are both great wheelers. As part of the family tradition, Jayden was introduced to wheeling too when he was just three and we were amazed how comfortable he was with his wheel.

So stop hesitating. If these people can learn how to wheel, so can you. For more queries about wheeling, you can
