The Wheelies Safety Day

Good day my friend.

Hope you have a good day so far. This is an update about "The Wheelies Safety Day", one of our free initiatives we conducted twice a year.

The Wheelies have been frequently approached by newbies for help in wheeling.  Given that the wheeling community is still small and the public perception for the safety of wheeling matters, The Wheelies decided to organise a safety workshop to help wheelers with their techniques of wheeling. This free workshop was targeted at all wheelers, regardless if they purchased their wheels from the Wheelies.

The agenda of workshop
  1. Introducing the electric unicycle and explaining the behaviour of the wheel
  2. Showing the Dos and Don'ts for the wheel
  3. Proper mounting / Dismounting techniques
  4. Emergency brake technique
  5. Manoeuvring the S- course
  6. Improving on control
  7. Overcoming small kerbs without dismounting

As part of the safety workshop, the 34 participants who signed up for this free workshop were treated about the technicalities of their Electric unicycle, as well as being taught of different techniques to overcome the daily obstacles encountered during wheeling. Besides the theories, the attendees were given a chance too to practise what they have been taught during the workshop by going through the different obstacles set up for them. Our experienced trainers were also on hand to have the attendees techniques corrected.

While time was a constraint, we hope all the attendees found the workshop useful and is able to pick up some useful tips of wheeling! For those who missed out on the session, you can still catch the highlights here. We will keep you posted about the next edition of "The Wheelies Safety Day"
